What is MockKit?

MockKit is a service and set of tools for collaborating on mockups and wireframes built with static site generators (SSGs).

By adopting MockKit, you can fill in information related to screen design and move forward with design work while receiving comments from other collaborators. It works with any static site generator, including Next.js, Nuxt, and 11ty.

Features

  • Create mockups and wireframes in code

Instead of using design collaboration tools like Figma or Penpot, you can annotate mockups and wireframes built with static site generators in a way similar to what you would do in tools like Figma.

This makes it possible to build and circulate mockups and wireframes through coding, using CSS frameworks such as Tailwind and UI component libraries (Bootstrap, Nuxt UI, Material UI, and others) directly.

  • Collaborate on mockups and wireframes

Once you have created a mockup or wireframe, you can publish the result to MockKit, invite other collaborators, and have them leave comments.

  • Manage change history for mockups and wireframes

Mockups and wireframes published to MockKit are version-controlled, so you can refer to past versions. Comments attached to past versions are also carried over.
